Over The Rainbow Children’s Charity supports children living with serious or life threatening illnesses. We do this by either providing specialised equipment to help with day to day living for the child or by providing some fun days out.
We believe the provision of specialised equipment has a direct and immediate impact on a child’s quality of life and independence, and is vital in helping them to overcome obstacles and achieve their potential. Specialist equipment can include nursing beds, sensory equipment, wheelchairs, walking frames, tricycles and other mobility aids.
There is no statutory right for young people with a disability to be provided with medical equipment from the government or NHS, children are therefore slipping through the net, and that is where we may be able to help.
With so many children and young people living in the UK with a serious or life threatening illness, we will never be able to support every child. But for each child we do support, our own dreams come true.
